About

Malt Cross
Saturday 12 May 2018 | 10.30am and 12.30pm
Tickets: £3

A guided tour of the Malt Cross music hall and the old sandstone caves below.

Learn about the people who built the music hall in 1877 and the performers who graced its stage. Hear about its glorious days as a live music venue and the slow decline of the music hall's reputation due to crime that led to it being closed in 1911. Malt Cross now also now has the pleasure of offering access to an historic underground cave network where the public can explore the history of our site dating back over 300 years.

Please note that there is no lift access to the caves and 20+ stairs to reach the caves.

In celebration of Nottingham’s 800 caves, #CaveCity invites you to explore this mysterious terrain which has lain beneath the city for hundreds of years. With tours, talks, activities and experiences throughout the city, including some of the city's lesser known cave locations, please visit the Cave City: Nottingham Underground Festival page for a full list of events, or check out the festival itinerary to plan your weekend

To follow all the subterranean happenings on social, use the tag #CaveCity!
