Meet The Civics

About

Friday 18 July 2014, Nottingham Council House

The Lord Mayor and Sheriff of Nottingham are inviting people along to the Council House for a cup of tea and a chat.

The Meet The Civics event will be a chance to get together with councillors Ian Malcolm and Jackie Morris, before taking a tour of one of the city's most important and recognisable landmarks.

It takes place on Friday 18 July and there will be two sessions on the day at 11am and 2pm.

Anyone interested in attending should call the civic office on 0115 876 5635 (Mondays and Tuesdays), or 0115 876 5655 (Wednesday to Friday).

The event is FREE to attend!

About Nottingham Council House: The current building, in Old Market Square, dates back to the early 1920s and, at the time, was the largest stone structure commissioned in the country since the First World War. The foundation stone was laid in 1927 and it was officially opened in 1929 by the Prince of Wales, who opened the great doors with a gold key. This is still displayed on a wall plaque, just inside the building to the left of the grand staircase.
