Meet the Ghosts of Newstead Abbey

About

Saturday 23 March 2019 | 7.20pm - 9.30pm
Newstead Abbey
Tickets £18 per person over 15years

The beautiful Newstead Abbey was first built to salve a kings conscience and make good with his God for the murder of Thomas Becket. Later the estate was sold by Henry VIII to the Byron family to bolster up the royal coffers, and is known most famously known as the home of 'mad, bad, and dangerous to know' poet Lord Byron.

Throughout its years the abbey has served as inspiration to writers like Washington Irving, writer of Sleepy Hollow, and is loved by psychic investigators.

Meet the Ghosts of Newstead Abbey is led by Madame Parboiled (Kath George), who has worked at the Abbey as a museum guide and as part of the management team.
In this behind the scenes tour, there will be no gimmicks or fancy dress, just one of Nottinghams most beautiful and haunted buildings.

We will even give you a glass of wine to steady your nerves.
