Wollaton Hall
£16 per person | Over 14s only
Wollaton Hall is a beautiful Elizabethan House, built by Sir Francis Willoughby in collaboration with the architect Robert Smithson and completed in 1588. The name of the family changed over the centuries, but the hall remained in the ownership of the bloodline until 1926 when death duties forced its sale. Today it is owned By Nottingham City Council and houses the city's natural history collection. It is noted as one of the most haunted buildings in Nottinghamshire.
In this behind the scenes tour, there will be no gimmicks or fancy dress. The tour is lead by Kath George, a full time front of house assistant responsible for the unlocking and locking of the building. She has met some of the former residents, as have her colleagues both still in the service and those long gone. This tour brings in the stories of real encounters with the unexplained happenings of Wollaton hall. There will be a glass of wine provided to steady your nerves.
Please use the Main Entrance gate and park at the top in front of the hall
Please Note that when the park is closed to the public, this gate will open for the event at 7.10pm and will remain open until 7.35pm if you are delayed please call 07773147271 and let us know
