About

Saturday 14th May 2022 - Sunday 24th July 2022
The Harley Gallery
Free

Harley Studio Artist Michelle Reader has been making recycled sculpture for over 20 years.

In this exhibition, three large scale sculptural installations of wildlife are accompanied by short films documenting the process. The sculptures are made from an extraordinary array of ordinary waste. Through this, Michelle highlights the links between the things we consume and the destruction of wildlife habitats, while at the same time portraying the beauty and wonder of the natural world.

Outside in the courtyard, you can also see her new commission for the new Art Trail which leads to the nearby prehistoric site Creswell Crags. A pair of horses, one modern and one ancient, have been crafted from reclaimed metal sourced on the Welbeck estate.
