This one week course combines mindfulness meditation techniques with drawing to enable greater focus and concentration, which in turn can lead to more creative outcomes.
Mindfulness is a proven method of maintaining wellbeing, and benefits people for many different reasons.
You might be someone who is at the beginning of their artistic journey looking to find ways to open up and release their inner creativity, or you might already be studying and want help to relax and build your portfolio at the same time. It is also useful for professional people with little experience of art who are looking for ways to de-stress, as well as artists or designers of all abilities who are looking to maximise their potential by finding new way to become more focused.
On this course you will:
- complete a series of meditations
- learn about the theory behind each meditation
- explore your creativity through experimental drawing exercises, including observation, abstraction and sound drawing
- use materials in exploratory ways.
The course is delivered through demonstrations, one-to-one critiques and group critiques.
What will I gain?
By the end of the day you will have a set of meditation techniques that can be used in everyday life for increased relaxation and creative focus.
