23 - 25 August 2021, Monday to Wednesday 10 am - 4 pm, three days
£295
This course combines mindfulness meditation techniques with drawing to enable greater focus and concentration, which in turn can lead to more creative outcomes.
Mindfulness is a proven method of maintaining wellbeing, and benefits people for many different reasons.
You might be someone who is at the beginning of their artistic journey looking to find ways to open up and release their inner creativity.
You might already be studying and want help to relax and build your portfolio at the same time.
You might be a professional with little experience of art who is looking for ways to de-stress, or an artist or designer who is looking to maximise their potential by finding new way to become more focused.
On this course, you will:
- complete a series of short meditations
- learn about the theory behind each meditation
- explore your creativity through experimental drawing exercises, including observation, abstraction and sound drawing
- use materials in exploratory ways.
The course is delivered through demonstrations, one-to-one critiques and group critiques.
What will you gain?
By the end of the course, you will have a set of meditation techniques that can be used in everyday life for increased relaxation and creative focus.
"The course was a fascinating experience, a simple and easy introduction to meditation and how it can benefit creative activities. As a designer, I've already been putting it into practice. So good to draw again with an interesting and friendly teacher, plus I met some lovely people too." AE
Level: Open to all
