My Cup Upset

About

Friday 13th November 2015

Comedian Andy Fury has proven that Friday 13th is indeed the unluckiest day of the year – after booking an FA Cup-themed show at the home of Notts County just days after their own upset in the competition.

The Magpies lost in a shock defeat at Salford City live on TV on Friday, which might make for a tougher than usual crowd for Andy on a day usually full of superstition. My Cup Upset arrives at Meadow Lane this Friday, the 13th November, exactly one week after a day to forget for the club.

Andy said: “When we decided to come and do the gig I didn't pay much attention to the date. And it wasn't until my phone started going crackers after the Salford game that I realised just how unlucky I was – it's not the best timing in the world, is it!”

He added: “My show is about me and my best friend Mark following the FA Cup in 2014, from the qualifying rounds all the way to the final. It's an hour long show telling the highs and lows of a ridiculous road trip through the world's best and most loved football tournament. I suspect that County fans might not feel the same way right now!”

My Cup Upset has just finished a short tour of the UK, and Andy is looking forward to bringing the show to Nottingham's Comedy Festival. He added: “I've always had a great time in the city when I've performed there in the past, and I'm really looking forward to coming back. This is the first time the football ground has been used as a venue as part of the festival. Hopefully I might be able to bring a little bit of cheer back to Meadow Lane!”

The stand up show, My Cup Upset, by Andy Fury, will be performed at The Sports Bar at Meadow Lane on Friday 13th November. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Tickets are priced at £7 and are available from www.nottscomedyfestival.co.uk
