Strays, Newark
FREE EVENT
John Illingworth is a vastly experienced guitarist who has played many differing types of venue either as a solo performer or with other musicians including the Hot Club of Lincoln, plus a 15+ year stint in the company of Steve Rodda as guitar duo Double Take.
John’s music encompasses many genres but as a solo performer he plays the music of Gershwin, Hoagey Carmichael, Miles Davis, Cole Porter, Django Reinhardt and Antonio Carlos Jobin. John is also an educator and plays as a session guitarist.
Steve Rodda picked up his first guitar in 1976 (we know, he doesn’t look old enough!) and has been playing jazz gigs since the late nineties, with strong Django Reinhardt influences apparent in his sound. He also loves Reggae, Ska, Country and Blues but primarily is known as a jazz guitarist.
