Southwell Minster
Tickets: Ticket prices: £17, Students £5. Children FREE (accompanied by a fee paying adult)
Many (perhaps most!) composers have written Masses, but you'd struggle to find two settings as contrasting as those of Dvořák and Langlais. The first is lyrical and harmonious, with a new tune on almost every page, while the second is dark and angular and intensely dramatic. Both of these extraordinary works can be heard in the wonderful setting of Southwell Minster on Saturday 21 st May, when Nottingham Harmonic Choir is joined by Southwell’s own Jonathan Allsopp at the organ. Also on the programme will be Fauré’s sublime Cantique de Jean Racine and a selection of short organ pieces by French composers.
This concert promises to be both exciting and inspiring!
