Of Mice And Men
By John Steinbeck
Guys like us, that work on ranches, are the loneliest guys in the world. They got no family. They don't belong no place...with us it ain't like that. We got a future. We got somebody to talk to that gives a damn about us.
Starring Dudley Sutton as Candy. Best known for his role in the BBC classic Lovejoy, Dudley Sutton is a renowned stage actor who began his career starring in some of the most iconic plays of the sixties.
Also starring Kristian Phillips and William Rodell as George and Lennie, Neil McKinven as Carlson, Ben Stott as Curley and Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Curley's wife.
Set in America during the Great Depression, this classic play tells the story of George and Lennie, two migrant farm workers, who go in search of new beginnings, in the hope of attaining their shared dream: of putting together enough money to buy a small piece of land and building a home.
After a long and exhausting journey, the pair arrive at a farm in California where they seek work. But they are no strangers to trouble and soon find themselves reeling from the fall out of an innocent misunderstanding which spirals out of control and leaves the two men, bound together by friendship, facing an earth-shattering climax.
