Newark Jazz - Wendy Kirkland Trio at Stray's

About

Saturday 11 August 2018, 3pm - 5pm
Saturday 29 September 2018, 3pm - 5pm
Saturday 27 October 2018, 3pm - 5pm

Wendy Kirkland’s latest project is entitled Piano Divas and is a celebration of the female piano heroes which have inspired her and continue to do so.

Both Wendy Kirkland & Pat Sprakes have been coming to Stray’s since 2008 and seem like part of the furniture. Their mellow vibe extends beyond their gig and seeps into the very fabric of the room in which they play – a bonus if you’re in the audience!

Pat Sprakes is a superlative guitarist and double bass player who has worked with jazz greats such as Darius Brubeck, Pat McCarthy and Tony Kofi. Together, Wendy and Pat produce a sound that is mellow, swinging, harmonious and full of life.

'Her own deeply expressive tone and delivery has attracted plaudits wherever she has played…' - Yorkshire Evening Post

'Wonderful singer and jazz pianist…' - Nottingham Evening Post
