Shame: Preview + Satellite Q&A (18)

About

Hunger put Steve McQueen on the map as a remarkably promising new filmmaker. That promise is fulfilled, and surpassed, with his second directorial effort, Shame. A searing examination of sexual compulsion, the film features extraordinary performances from Michael Fassbender who plays Brandon, a seemingly normal New Yorker trapped by his erotic compulsions and Carey Mulligan who plays Sissy, Brandon's needy, neurotic sister. When Sissy shows up at his apartment in emotional freefall, their collision sends both siblings reeling. Shame is a frank and fearless exploration of sexual need and how it shapes our lives. AFI FEST

This preview screening will be followed by a live by satellite Q&A with director Steve McQueen, writer Abi Morgan and actor Michael Fassbender.
