The pumping station will be in steam on the dates below. Tickets can be bought online AND from the museum shop on the day of your visit. Tickets will become available usually two weeks before the event is scheduled to take place. Please note that it is cheaper to buy your tickets on line.

Other Special Events:
The pumping station will be host to a number of additional special events this year which will take place either on a Saturday or Sunday. Admission is £5 per person and U12s go free (Please be aware that the James Watt engines won’t be in steam at these events and admission tickets will only be available at the gate).
Robey winding engine centenary celebrations (with mining displays & Robey engine in steam) - Sunday 19 June 11:00am – 4pm
Remote Controlled Models Day (the Papplewick model boat section and specially Invited guests demonstrate an array of models) - Sunday 24 July 11:00am – 4pm
Gaussfest Tesla Coils & Halloween (a demonstration of tesla coils and other high voltage equipment, sparking into the night) - Saturday 29 October 11:00am – 7pm
Steam Event admission prices - includes unlimited 12-month entry:
Admission tickets can be purchased online or at the gate (debit or credit card payment preferred). All admissions include a 12-month annual pass so you can return as many times as you like within 12 months of purchase. Annual passes are collected from the museum on the day of your visit.
Adults - £11.50
Senior (65+) - £10.50
Student - £10.50
Young person (12+) - £10.50
Children under 12 - FREE
If possible, please buy your tickets online as it helps reduce the admin work for the Front of House volunteers and speeds up your entry!
* All full priced Steam Day tickets provide unlimited entry within twelve months of purchase (return is subject to when we are open). If you are a UK tax payer you will also be asked to consider completing a Gift Aid form which will mean the Government giving an extra 25p to the Pumping Station for every £1 of your admission.
