Sugar Sculpture – The Grand Tour at The School of Artisan Food

About

Friday 13 July 2018 | 1pm - 3.30pm
Venue: The School of Artisan Food
Cost: £25

During the era of the Grand Tour, wealthy young gentleman visited the sites of the classical past and recorded their experiences of art and architecture.

For many of the grand tourists new culinary encounters at the dinner table could rival many a painting or sculpture.

Delve into the past, present and future of sugar sculpture with this unique workshop hosted by food historian and founder of AVM Curiosities, Tasha Marks. Produce your very own sugar sculpture using 17th-century sugar paste recipes and techniques, alongside AVM Curiosities’ bespoke contemporary tools.

Hosted in partnership with The Harley Gallery and wider consortium partners, this unique event promises to marvel and delight. Providing you with a snapshot into the life of a grand tourist, taking inspiration from the past and looking towards the future.
