Nick's recent research has focused on the founding of the NHS, and on the voluntary systems that preceded this. He has a particular interest in the connections that existed between local communities and their hospitals, and what people thought of the standard of care they received.
Nick Hayes is a twentieth-century British historian, specialising in urban and medical history. He has lectured at Nottingham Trent since 1996, having taught previously at the University of Warwick and the Open University
