"Jeanie's infectious smile, great diction and rapport with her audience make it a joy and a real pleasure to listen to her" Chris Moore, BBC Radio
"Absolutely spot-on" London Jazz News
Jazz singer Jeanie Barton pays homage to Doris Day; one of Hollywood's biggest stars at Peggy's Skylight. Her effortless, sunny vocals were perfect for countless breezy musicals and comedies but she also had an extensive career singing with big bands and recorded an acclaimed jazz album with Andre Previn called Duet. Her life was in fact more shadow than sun and there was far more to Doris than most realise. Jeanie and her quartet, featuring Matt Ratcliffe on piano, Simon Paterson on double bass and Andrew Wood on drums, perform their interpretations of her greatest hits, wrapping them up with fascinating stories about her life and career.
Jeanie's vocals are a touch of class with a sound that is both stylish and personal and characterized by a refreshingly English delivery…" John O'Neill, former Jazz critic, The Sunday Times
"Jeanie is a joyous performer with an effortless style…" Neil Bennison, Theatre Royal, Nottingham
