The Historical Pub Tour at Cave City: Nottingham Underground Festival

About

Sunday 13 May 2018, 8pm
The Bell Inn
Price: £5.00
Tickets are available online (see website link above)

This award-winning tour takes you into some of the oldest pubs in Nottingham, which share a combined age of over 2000 years! Led by Madame Parboiled, this is a slightly different version of her usual Sunday Historical Pub Tour, as you will get an exclusive chance to visit the beer cellars of The Bell Inn to hear tales of drunken monks, The Goose Fair and local sporting heroes.

The tour then moves on into the caves below the Salutation Inn for tales of the English Civil War and ghosts. Finally, to end the tour you will visit the caves at the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem for tales about kings, castles and killers!

The tour will start at The Bell Inn and will last for approximately 40 minutes in each pub
Must be over 18 and physically fit. Please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes.

In celebration of Nottingham’s 800 caves, #CaveCity invites you to explore this mysterious terrain which has lain beneath the city for hundreds of years. With tours, talks, activities and experiences throughout the city, including some of the city's lesser known cave locations, please visit the Cave City: Nottingham Underground Festival page for a full list of events, or check out the festival itinerary to plan your weekend
