About

Peggy's Skylight
Sunday 29th May 2022

"He conveys the spirit of the music with effortless control and delivery. This is superb music that manages to pull off that difficult trick of having a broad appeal whilst still satisfying the jazz connoisseur" – Gill Wilde, Jazz Promoter of the Year

Thom Whitworth is a much in demand performer; a multi-instrumentalist with great flare for whatever he turns his hand to. Regular Peggy's audience members will be familiar with his trumpet playing from performances with Shannon Reilly, Pat McCarthy, several of our Blue Note Sessions bands, and 'A Sketch of Chet'. Also appearing with equal virtuosity as lead guitarist in Djanco, TW's 'Funky Organ'…we may even be treated to his latest (rarely heard in public) passion for playing tenor saxophone – you just never know what will happen next with Thom…

Today performing a soulful & melodic jazz selection, perfect for relaxing on a Sunday afternoon

Line up
Thom Whitworth – trumpet & guitar (…sax??)
Paul Deats – piano
Tom Clarke-Hill – bass
