Thoresby Park's Open Exhibition 2019

About

Exhibition dates: 31 August – 28 September 2019
Deadline for artist submissions: 16 – 18 August 2019

Thoresby Park

This year will be the 23rd year of this well-established exhibition, which brings together works by a selection of local artists. The exhibition is the highlight of Thoresby's Gallery calendar. The Open Exhibition is unique in that the judges mark the work in person instead of digital images. The exhibition is inclusive and a great opportunity for local artists to have a go at exhibiting and possibly selling their works.

If you're a local artist simply choose your pieces, bring your work along, fill in the form and keep your fingers crossed. Head over to Thoresby's website (please click on the website link above) for an application form. There is no set theme for this year's exhibition.

The prizes for exhibiting artists for 2019 are as follows;

- Newark & Sherwood District Council sponsored £500 prize for standout piece of the exhibition

- Thoresby Gallery prize for two winning artists Shared Exhibition worth £1000 in 2020.

Visitors to Thoresby can also get involved and unleash their creativity by taking pictures of Thoresby estate/life and submit them for a new Thoresby Calendar for 2020. Thoresby Park is lucky enough to have an abundance of nature, events and visitors and want to encourage guests through the open exhibition to take focus on a walk and find inspiration through photography. This will hopefully encourage visitors to really see new things when they go on walks and be inspired by and have an appreciation of the artworks and diverse vision on display.
