UNESCO City of Literature: Story-telling with Robin Hood - Thursday 28th May 2016, 2pm-4pm
Nottingham’s Official Robin Hood (Tim Pollard) and other professional storytellers will be telling tales at Nottingham’s Speaker’s Corner at Market Square (near the Brian Clough statue), to promote Nottingham’s Bid to become a UNESCO City of Literature. As a free half-term treat for younger readers (and their parents!), the event is a must, and one that will show how the City of Literature is for everyone in our great city.
As well as being an outlaw, hero and all-round legendary good-guy, Robin Hood also is a great storyteller, introducing young listeners to the wonder of stories. His band of storytellers, from the Sherwood Story Telling Café, will be also wowing onlookers with a mixed bunch of entertaining tales, interactive and musical. There will also be free gifts given away, including our unique bespoke City of Literature Bookmarks; and a chance for you to feature on a giant poster by telling us why you think Nottingham IS a City of Literature.
