Vintage Steam Event at Papplewick Pumping Station

About

Papplewick Pumping Station
Vintage Steam Event
18 - 19 September 2021, 10.30am-4pm

Nottingham's historic Papplewick Pumping Station will be in steam for the general public with a vintage theme featuring steam rollers, miniature traction engines, vintage & classic vehicles, blacksmith, a selection of trade stalls plus live entertainment from The Blighters (Saturday) and The GinSing Trio (Sunday). Both bands will perform at 11.45am and 1.45pm.

The James Watt beam engines, that once pumped water from out of the sandstone for the citizens of Nottingham, will be in full steam fired by our Lancashire boiler along with regular demonstrations of the rare Robey winding engine from Linby Colliery. Our resident Blacksmith will be working the forge and the miniature railway will also be in operation.

Light refreshments will be available from the pop-up tea tent and the main café. Guided tours of the underground reservoir will also be operating and are an additional £3 per adult (U16s go free).

Event admission:
Adult: £11.37
Senior/Student: £9.75
U16s go free

Tickets can be bought at the gate or on line via Eventbrite (click on website button at the top of this listing). If you are able to buy online please do as it helps reduce the admin load on our volunteers!
