Central Avenue, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, NG2 6AT
West Bridgford Christmas Market and Lights Switch On 2019

West Bridgford Christmas Market and Light Switch On
Saturday 23 November 2019 | 10am - 6pm

Bridgford Road, Central Avenue and Gordon Road will be illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights for shoppers to enjoy between November and January. From 10am crowds can expect seasonal entertainment in the lead up to the Lights Switch On, including street theatre performances, local singers and a Christmas Market on the croquet lawn will offer a host of festive gifts, crafts, novelties and food.

Trent Bridge Community Trust’s YouNG project is hosting its annual Christmas Market on the 23rd November on Gordon Rd, West Bridgford (Outside the Test Match pub), from 12pm until 4.30pm. This year’s event will showcase a range of young entrepreneurs and performers from around Rushcliffe and takes place in conjunction with Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Christmas light switch on, on Central Avenue.

It promises to be an excellent day, filled with fun activities for all the family including a Frozen themed snowflake trail along Gordon Road, an opportunity to collect some goodies from Santa in his grotto outside the Test Match pub from 1pm to 2pm and 3pm to 4pm, and a variety of market stalls, all run by young people. The stalls on offer range from homemade Christmas decorations and crafts, to YouNG’s very own stall where little ones can make their own snowflakes for display!

Throughout the day, there will be a range of young performers providing entertainment on stage at Gordon Road. From solo performers to groups of young people, the festivities will culminate in a nativity performed by Stage Coach – it doesn’t get any more Christmassy than that!

The annual festive lights will be switched on at 5pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks show.
