“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful” – William Morris.
In this workshop you will hand-pierce one of William Morris’s famous repeating pattern designs into a piece of sheet copper.
Choose one pattern from some of his most popular designs; ‘Strawberry Thief’, ‘Golden Lily’ and ‘Sunflower’ and watch it turn into a beautiful piece of art as you cut the pattern out with a jewellers saw. You will then use needle files, wet & dry sandpaper and traditional metalwork finishing processes until your piece is ready for you to solder a silver pin on the back, so then you can go home with a beautiful (and useful!) stick pin to wear however you want.
* Options are available for you to have your finished pin silver plated or 24ct gold plated at an additional cost of £20 - £50 (payable to the artist on the day). Plating takes 3-4 weeks and will be posted back to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery which will be covered in your cost.
