Lunchtime talk given by Rowena Edlin-White. In the years preceding WWI women were engaged in campaigns of their own - the fight for the right to vote. Nottingham had its own branch of the NWSPU, its office a mere stone's throw (!) from Bromley House. One of its most intriguing members was Helen K. Watts, daughter of the Vicar of Lenton, whose heroic story is still emerging.
Admission - £6 per person.
This event forms part of the Trent To Trenches programme which marks the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. For more details please see www.experiencenottinghamshire.com/trent-to-trenches.
