Every Wednesday in the summer holidays 2019 | 12pm - 5pm
The Workhouse, Southwell
This event is free but normal admission charges apply
Every Wednesday in the summer holidays step back in time at The Workhouse - find and help the inmates doing their daily jobs. Go back to school at The Workhouse, write on a slate, learn to count but don't even think about misbehaving! Education played an important part in pauper children's lives; discover how this prepared them for life outside the institution. Over the bank holiday, storytellers will also be telling stories from The Workhouse. These costumed characters will recount stories of despair - listen to the facts and consider the views of the various characters involved.
