Library members and visitors are invited to bring along their old family photograph albums or individual historical photographs which illustrate the concept of travel and exploration. These may be images of holidays, excursions, military postings etc.
FREE but reserving a place is essential

10:00 Assemble for coffee.
10:15 Brief talk by Eric Butler about the Photographic Studio at Bromley House Library.
10:30 Introductory talks by Maiken Umbach and Anna Greenwood, Nottingham University Department of History.
11:00 Opportunity for attendees to share and discuss their photographic images and associated stories.
11.40 Group activity discussing issues such as:
Why do people take photos when away from home?How do they choose what to photograph?How much do people imitate postcards etc. when taking photos?
12:00 Feedback and close.
12:15 Maiken and Anna will be available for more personal discussions about specific photographs
