Head out for an enchanting evening stroll through Budby South Forest in search of the enigmatic nightjar. This guided walk is an opportunity to experience the magical twilight hours of the forest and hear the unmistakeable sound of the nightjar in its natural habitat. As the sun sets and darkness descends, the nightjar emerges from its daytime roost to hunt for insects, producing its distinctive churring call and erratic flight patterns.  With the help of The Birklands Ringing Group, participants will learn to identify the bird's distinctive features and behaviour, and gain insight into its fascinating life cycle and nocturnal habits.
