As part of Refugee Week, Squire Performing Arts Centre are pleased to be hosting a large-screen showing of the hard-hitting Cecilia's Story: The Ghost of Yarl's Wood.
Cecilia's Story is a 60-minute documentary film, created by the Nottingham-based migration arts group HEAL Collective, that depicts the story of Nottingham resident Cecilia Mwenda's fraught journey though the UK asylum system, her detention in Yarl's Wood Immigration Detention Centre and her quest for justice beyond detention.
After the documentary, there will be a chance to take part in a Q+A session with Cecilia, and the documentary makers, Dr Anna Ball and Allan Njanji and view the accompanying exhibition.
Tickets are just £5 – with all proceeds going to the Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum.
Please note this event is for ages 14 years and above.
Please also note this event is unallocated seating at the time of booking.
