There’s something about a beautiful view that can really make a dining experience extra special, and Nottinghamshire has no shortage of restaurants, bars and cafés set against a variety of backdrops to take your breath away. From beautiful city skylines to relaxing waterside settings to stunning countryside landscapes, there are plenty of venues where you can bag yourself the best window seat in the house, enjoy a delicious meal or a glass of wine and simply soak up the view.
The Spotlight Bar and Restaurant at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham boasts spectacular floor-to-ceiling views of the city skyline and exciting à-la-carte menu options. This elegant and relaxed venue underwent a huge refurbishment in 2019 and offers an exclusive hospitality experience to start your big night out in style whilst looking out over Nottingham’s rooftops.
There’s something inexplicably calming about watching the sun rippling over a lake, canal or river, and if this is the sort of thing that floats your boat then we’ve got plenty of great ideas for you. Visit Canalhouse’s famously large, covered beer garden for stunning views of the canal (which even runs inside the building). Wave at passing narrowboats as you take your pick from various dishes including ‘beer bites’, burgers, salads, rustic sandwiches and much more. They have a hugely expansive selection of real ale and cider and one of the largest selections of world and craft beer in the East Midlands.
The Hockley Arts Club is a Nottingham staple. Situated in the heart of Hockley in a gorgeous grade II listed building. They’ve got some of the best bartenders in Nottingham serving incredible cocktails and wines throughout the week. Spaced out over three floors each completely different. It would be hard not to spend the whole night here.
This absolutely stunning former Reform Club, The Cosy Club sits proudly over 3 levels. Known most recently as the Victoria Club casino, a lot of the original features and design elements have been retained to create a striking venue for dining, drinking, lounging, celebrating and so much more. Cosy Club is conveniently located on Victoria Street just a short walk from the train station and Nottingham Arena, you can’t miss it.
The Malt Cross is a Grade II listed Victorian Music Hall set at the heart of Nottingham city centre, just off Old Market Square. It is the only Victorian Music Hall in the country that operates as it's original design intended, providing food, drink and live music. Today you can be treated to delicious homemade food, their very own blend of coffee, loose leaf teas and even famous cream and crushed maltesers hot chocolate.
After a visit to Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem you'll soon understand why this pub has survived the centuries to become a treasure of Nottingham past and present. As England's oldest inn, the pub is nestled beneath the cliff on which Nottingham's historic castle stands, and was once a well-known pit stop for crusader knights.
Housed inside a striking Grade II-listed church, Pitcher & Piano has reopened in the heart of the Lace Market. Beautifully restored, the church setting provides a stunning backdrop to dining and drinking. Complete with stained glass windows, exposed brick archways and beautiful new interiors the Pitcher an Piano is a stylish space for socialising with friends.
Zaap Thai brings a slice of Bangkok to the streets of Nottingham. Zaap is like no other restaurant – if you’re lucky enough to have been to Thailand, then you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d left Nottingham and landed in the middle of a Bangkok street food market. From the cool street signs, the wonderful tuk tuks and the amazing (and sometimes downright wacky) pieces of Thai decorations and artwork that adorn their Nottingham restaurant, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped off the streets of this East Midlands city, into downtown Bangkok.
At the end of an avenue of lime trees in the Vale of Belvoir, just twelve miles outside of Nottingham city centre, lies Langar Hall. A small and charming country house that has gently evolved over time into a hotel and restaurant. Langar Hall holds onto the air of a family home and provides a retreat for city-weary people.
Woodborough Hall is a historic Grade II* venue located twenty minutes from the city centre. The Hall is nestled in the quintessentially English village location of Woodborough in Nottinghamshire and has a long and proud history, with many notable inhabitants. The friendly team look forward to extending a warm welcome to this lovingly restored hall where professional service is always guaranteed.
