North Notts BID

About

North Notts BID is the UK’s first ever area-wide Business Improvement District (BID), uniquely covering the entire district of Bassetlaw and supporting businesses across town centres, rural areas and industrial estates alike. It is also one of the largest BIDs in the country, representing over 1,300 local businesses from every sector and location within North Nottinghamshire.

North Notts BID exists to champion the local economy by providing a collective voice and formal partnership for business, working collaboratively with levy-paying members, key partners and public sector stakeholders to shape a stronger, more prosperous future for the district. Its mission is to encourage investment, enhance trading conditions, elevate place identity and promote North Nottinghamshire as a destination of choice for business, work, leisure, study and living.

As a place-shaping organisation, the BID delivers a diverse and ambitious programme of projects, services and initiatives designed to benefit all member businesses, regardless of size or location. These include targeted business support such as training and workshops to enhance resilience and skills; the Cost Reduction Service to help manage expenses; specialist support through digital and physical tools that improve safety and reduce crime; and bespoke campaigns that raise the profile of local enterprises and places across the district.

The BID also drives community and destination-focused activity, organising and supporting flagship events and seasonal promotions that attract visitors and foster local pride. From major festivals and family-friendly experiences to Christmas lights celebrations, these events bring people into towns, villages and commercial areas, nurturing a sense of vibrancy and shared identity that benefits businesses and residents alike.

North Notts BID’s work is underpinned by robust governance and professional delivery, as recognised through repeated accreditation by British BIDs, a national endorsement of excellence in BID management, partnership working, financial oversight and member engagement. This accreditation affirms the BID’s commitment to delivering tangible value and services that matter to its members.

At its core, North Notts BID is about connecting, supporting and representing the broad and diverse business community of Bassetlaw. It harnesses the collective strength of local enterprises, advocates for improved infrastructure and amenities, and champions initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all those who live, visit and work in the area. Through collaboration, strategic vision and place leadership, North Notts BID continues to help shape a thriving, resilient and inclusive future for the district.
