About

Located at the base of the Castle Rock, the museum depicts the social history of Nottingham over the last 300 years. The Museum of Nottingham Life contains a mixture of reconstructed rooms & shop settings, and gallery displays.

Step back into an air raid shelter, experience being in a Victorian home, see inside a child's bedroom and look through the cupboards in the kitchen. See objects that were made or used by people in Nottingham and learn about the history of the area, through sight, sound and touch.

Opening times:

Open Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays   12 – 4pm – Last Entry 3:30pm

(excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day)  Pre-booked tours are available Monday – Friday, from 10am to 5pm, for parties of 10 or more only. Tours must be booked in advance – for more details or to book call 0115 8761400.

Accessibility:

The ground floor of the Museum of Nottingham Life is fully accessible however there is no lift access to the upper floors of the museum or the Rock Cottage school room. Within the grounds there is an accessible toilet.  If you would like further details please contact the museum on 0115 8761400.ources for Schools web page
