About 2 to Link

2 to Link is the historical violin/viola Duo ensemble with Miki Takahashi (violin) and Adam Romer (viola). The two musicians met while they were both studying with Prof. Lorand Fenyves, who at the time was a musical guru in the city of Toronto, Canada. Since then, Miki and Adam have been playing together internationally in various ensembles and orchestras. As a duo, and they have played concerts worldwide, including in Canada, Japan, Hungary, Germany, East Timor and of course, in UK. As you might have guessed, Miki and Adam are also married and have 2 children.

They aim to liven up the music from the classical era (last half of 18th Century - early 19th Century) by using “historical” or “period” instruments, which means their violin and viola are set up as it used to be back then. Miki and Adam also hold degrees from University of Arts in Berlin in baroque violin/viola performance, and they apply their knowledge to truly bring up the spirits of the music they love.

Miki Takahashi is also a member of the Feinstein Ensemble and Turini Ensemble, and she performs regularly with major period ensembles in UK, such as the English Concert, Gabrielli Consort and Early Opera Company. Adam is Section Leader violist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, a violist of the Solomon Quartet and a leader of his own Hungarian folk band, “Folktone.”

There are many unknown gems of violin/viola duets from classical era, and 2 to Link hopes to convey the charm of this wonderful music to wider audiences.
