Born out of a friendship that blossomed through shared musical experiences, motherhood, folk festivals and a desire to connect with others, singer-songwriters Becky Syson and Lauren South join forces for a unique evening celebrating original song.
Popular Nottinghamshire-based Becky Syson is described as 'the Mike Tyson of singers', with BBC Introducing East Midlands writing, 'An incredible artist; we love what she does'. With countless blooms of first-rate songs and an infectious personality on stage it's no wonder that she's highly received by audiences and promoters alike. Becky has been featured on BBC Radio Nottingham and Lincoln, gigged with Jake Bugg, and performed at festivals both in the UK and internationally.
Multi-instrumentalist Lauren South is renowned for songs which exude heartfelt emotion, inspired by the natural world and her journey through motherhood. Lauren's debut solo album was released in 2023 to critical acclaim, featuring on FATEA magazine's Spring Showcase, BBC Lincolnshire and Shropshire folk shows and BBC Introducing. Lauren is also a regular performer on the UK folk circuit and has been playing folk festival main stages since 2019.
'Lauren's voice…has a distinctive and unique beauty that allows her to turn every word she sings into a kind of magic formula' (Reg Meuross).
'Songwriting with depth' (James Fagan)
