Do We Deserve More From Our Politicians?

About

Monday 23 February 2015 at 7.45pm

The rise of UKIP, the Scottish Referendum, the creeping privatisation of the NHS – the masses have never been more vocal but are we demanding enough from our politicians?

What has history taught us about the role of the population in determining the future of a nation and what does that mean for 2015’s big vote?

Inspired by history and the upcoming general election, expert panellists from across the political spectrum discuss the role of politics in our lives in an entertaining and inspiring debate.

The event will be hosted by John Hess, BBC Political Correspondent for the East Midlands, with panellists Chris Bryant, Labour MP and author of Parliament: The Biography; Zoe Williams, Guardian columnist and author of the forthcoming book Get It Together: We Deserve More than the Politics We’re Given, and Jonathan Isaby, former columnist for the Daily Telegraph and Chief Executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance.

Tickets are available from the Playhouse's Box Office in person, on 0115 9419419 or via www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk
