Build a Castle for Nature with LEGO bricks | Daily sessions at 10.15am, 11.15am, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm | FREE
Nottingham Castle is built for people and has changed over time; it has been a fortress, a palace, and is now an art gallery and museum. But what if it was built for nature?
In this special pop-up display for the Easter Holidays, we welcome you to imagine a fortress for frogs, a palace for plants, or even a gallery for grass snakesusing LEGO bricks!
Is there light, fresh air and water for plants and animals? What will animals eat? Where can they sleep? Are there safe places they can build dens or nests for their babies?
Let your creativity run wild with LEGO bricks as nature takes over the walls and rooms of this historic site, but now for animals and not humans!
History at Your Fingertips | Daily 10am - 4pm
Access Artefacts is the handling collection for Nottingham City Museums and Galleries. It brings together thousands of real objects from across social history, archaeology, geology, industrial history and the natural sciences. The service is available to both schools and community groups.
With more than 11,000 artefacts available to borrow, it is one of the most extensive heritage and learning resources in the country.
During this school break, we are offering a special pop‑up display where you can explore a selection of these fascinating items. Choose a loan box by theme or pick one at random, and a member of our team will guide you through what you discover.
All the objects you will see are genuine pieces of our shared human story.
Experience what it might be like to be an archaeologist or museum curator!
You are encouraged to dive in, explore, touch, handle and investigate them so you can better understand where they come from and how they might once have been used.
This is a special display exclusively for the Easter holidays.
