New Art Exchange
Free
Join us to welcome Solomon Berrio-Allen as he begins his artist-in-residence programme with NAE and FABRIC this season.
Solomon will introduce his residency research project, Our Acres, and invite attendees to share their personal reflections that might shape his thinking and ideas. Our Acres explores the reclamation of the 'acres' of land and the sense of sovereign power taken from the ancestors of the diaspora. With this indelible colonial history they endured, 400 years on, how does our body feel now? The work stands as a time for the diasporic body's song, watering, authorship, healing and remembrance of our sacredness, power and beauty.
