States of Verbal Undress

About

17 May 2014, 7pm – 8.30pm

PERFORMANCE: 7PM – 8PM
Q&A: 8PM – 8.30PM

Bold, innovative, moving and tinged with salty humour, States of Verbal Undress is Rasa's provocative response to the political phrase of the moment "tidal wave of immigration"

Based on two years of interviews with immigrant communities, the show will unveil a variety of characters as diverse as a Vietnamese drag artist, a Burmese activist, and a Tamil who grew up in Bavaria. Two actors play a multiplicity of richly drawn characters and in knowing them we can come to understand the complexity of migration. There will be further opportunities to engage with themes of the performance through workshops.

"Astonishingly moving... rarely have I seen such talent or such intimate contact with the pulse of this nation" - The Independent on Rasa Productions
