Alora is one of Nottingham’s most exciting modern restaurants — a place where world flavours, fine dining craft, and laid-back atmosphere come together. Known for its bold small plates, inventive sushi, and exceptional drinks, Alora has quickly built a loyal following of food lovers, earning two prestigious AA Rosettes in the process.
As a proudly independent restaurant, Alora brings together creative cooking, warm hospitality, and a strong connection to the local community — offering something truly distinct in Nottingham’s food scene.
Led by Michelin-trained Head Chef Henrik Horvath, the kitchen blends global influence with precise execution — from beef short rib croquettes with jalapeño salsa to asparagus with brown butter, wild garlic pesto and grapefruit segments. Think seared beef sirloin with chimichurri butter, or confit garlic and gochujang-glazed chicken with house pickles — dishes designed to surprise and delight. A curated sushi offering, led by specialist chef Chris Brown, adds another layer of technique and variety to the menu.
Alora is open all day, offering flexible dining from laid-back lunches and midweek offers to evening feasts and weekend celebrations. Saturday bottomless brunches are launching soon, and Sundays are all about elevated, flavour-rich roasts.
Inside, Alora combines beautiful, contemporary design with a warm, inclusive feel — equally suited to special occasions, casual meals, or spontaneous get-togethers. The outdoor terrace offers a great spot for summer dining, while the stylish interior reflects the restaurant’s creative, high-quality ethos.
The drinks list, curated by award-winning bartender Ed Belshaw, features stand-out cocktails and a thoughtful wine selection, built to match the vibrant flavour profiles of the food.
Alora is fully accessible (with a ramp entrance), family-friendly (with a dedicated kids’ menu), and caters confidently to a wide range of dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan guests.
With its dynamic menu, neighbourhood soul, and focus on quality food, drink and service, Alora stands out as one of Nottingham’s most exciting independent dining destinations.
ACCESSIBILITY - Alora is fully accessible, with a ramp entrance suitable for wheelchairs and step-free access throughout the venue. The restaurant layout allows for easy navigation between tables, and low-level seating is available. We are family-friendly, with a dedicated children’s menu, and happy to accommodate guests with specific dietary or access needs. Our team is on hand to assist wherever possible — please contact us ahead of your visit if you have any specific requirements.
