BLUE MONKEY BREWERY was born on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in 2008. In 2010 a lovely shiny new brewery in Giltbrook was built where the brewery is capable of producing over 18,000 pints of beer a week. This might sound like a lot, but compared with the big breweries Blue Monkey is tiny. They are however big enough to guarantee quality and consistency, whilst still small enough to remain a tight knit team of beer nerds who are fortunate enough to be able to brew the beers they love.
Off to a swinging start, they have won over 20 CAMRA and SIBA awards in their first six years. Here's hoping there's plenty more to come!
Tours of the brewery can be arranged. For more information and to book please contact them 0115 9385899.
Beers:
Loads of different beers are brewed, from traditional-style cask ales, through to artisan hand-bottled specials and cutting edge craft-keg hop-monsters. Visit the website (via the link above) to get a feel for what Blue Monkey produce, and give them a call if you're after something in particular - their seasonal range is constantly changing.
