As leading specialists in the archaeology and history of Sherwood Forest, Mercian Archaeological Services is a Community Interest Company and independent research organisation. They provide a full range of archaeological services, with expertise in community archaeology, public involvement, training, outreach, and heritage tourism.
Mercian also manages the Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project, a long-running research initiative investigating the history and archaeology of the world-famous forest associated with Robin Hood.
