A History of Coal Mining in Nottinghamshire - a talk by Andy McKinnon.

This talk tracks the development of coal mining in the History of Coal Mining in Nottinghamshire from its early beginnings to its recent demise.

It covers advances in mining technology, the role of the miners’ unions, coal production, and the cost of human lives, ending with the legacy of what was a major employer in the county for several centuries.

 

Everyone is welcome to come and listen to this fascinating account of Coal Mining in Nottinghamshire.

Visitors can attend the talk at the cost of £3
If you wish to join the Arnold Local History Group you can do so also at the annual cost of £10 and entitles you to attend monthly meetings for £1, vote at the AGM and be eligible for election to the committee.
