About

Saturday 30th November 2024
Beeston Square
12pm - 6.30pm

Beeston's Annual Christmas Celebration is back, bringing festive fun to Beeston Square, Foster Avenue car park, and Beeston High Road!

The annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event promises an afternoon filled with holiday cheer, treats, and entertainment. Starting at 12pm, the Christmas market in Beeston Square will offer a delightful selection of festive goodies and gifts. Guests can indulge in hot food, sweets, and donuts, and enjoy festive face painting. Community and charity stalls will be present, providing a chance for visitors to support their important work.

Santa Claus will be at his grotto in Beeston Library from 2pm to 5pm. Children can meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and experience the magic of the season. For those who require an accessible sensory-friendly session, Santa's grotto will be open from 1pm to 2pm, with free bookings available on Eventbrite on a first-come, first-served basis.

The main festivities will kick off at 4:30pm in Beeston Square, featuring the lively Bouncing Elves street theatre act. Fairground rides will be available at Foster Avenue car park and along Beeston High Road. As the evening unfolds, guests can enjoy a live performance by the five-piece band Spotlight, delivering energetic music from various decades, including holiday favorites.

At 5:30pm, the Mayor of Broxtowe will lead the Christmas Lights Switch-On ceremony at Beeston Square. Just before the grand finale, carol singing led by Redeemer Church will take place at the top of Foster Avenue at 6pm, setting the scene for a dazzling firework display at 6:30pm, best viewed from Foster Avenue.

To make the most of public transport, visitors are encouraged to use the Beeston Tram and Bus Interchange, conveniently located just a minute’s walk from the Square.

For event updates, follow Broxtowe Borough Council on Facebook or visit the website. Organized by Broxtowe Borough Council, this festive celebration is proudly sponsored by Arc Cinema.

Please note that the Foster Avenue car park will be closed all day, and parking in the town center is limited. Residents affected by road closures will receive advance notification. Don’t miss this wonderful afternoon and evening of Christmas festivities in Beeston!
