Family Indian Bhangra Dance Workshop
Saturday 4 May - 3.15 - 4.15pm
Tickets £5.95 (inc booking fee)
Learn high-energy Bhangra dance moves and learn how the dances tell stories. Originally a traditional folk dance to celebrate the arrival of spring, bhangra dance is now an intrinsic part of Indian culture and popular during Diwali celebrations. This is a lively and physical session - please wear loose, comfortable clothes with trainers or similar footwear.
The roof of the Spiegeltent will be well and truly raised with the sound of the Indian dhol drum during BeatFeet’s Family Bhangra Dance Workshop. Vijay uses his dhol drum to plant Punjabi musical culture right at the heart of his vibrant workshops.
Not only will you follow simple iconic dance steps linked with Bhangra dance; you’ll also be treated to a fascinating storyline of the cultural origin of the dance, and why bhangra remains such a popular dance style today.
Come and enjoy a new style of dance and fill the Spiegeltent with laughter and joy!
