This micro exhibition at Bonington Gallery explores the life and works of Donald Rodney (b.1961 - d.1998), an Nottingham Trent Polytechnic alumnus who studied at the University between 1981 and 1985. A leading figure in Britain's BLK Art Group of the 1980s, Donald became recognised as "one of the most innovative and versatile artists of his generation".
The exhibition brings together archival materials that show a snapshot of what was happening in Nottingham while Donald was here. Get a glimpse into the social and political discourse Donald was part of while he was a student.
This show has been developed in collaboration with the exhibitions team at Nottingham Contemporary and complements their exhibition Donald Rodney: Visceral Canker.
