About Notts Pride
Notts Pride is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. It is the East Midlands’ biggest and all-embracing free Pride event, which always takes place on the last Saturday of July.
Nottinghamshire enjoyed its first Pride event in 1997, called 'Pink Lace'. Taking place on Broad Street in Hockley, it featured stalls from various LGBTQ+ groups and organisations, with live bands playing on the steps of the Broadway Cinema. Hockley remains the home of Notts Pride to this day, and Broad Street is still regarded as one of the hubs of activity, with events and celebrations taking over the area each year.
To mark the incredible significance, this beloved area of Nottingham had its own 'rainbow road' installed in 2019 along Hockley and Broad Street. It serves as a homage to all the incredible LGBTQ+ individuals past, present and future who call this city home.
