Bromley House Library
As part of the Byron200 celebrations, Bromley House is marking Lord Byron's bicentenary with an exhibition of our special collections relating to the poet.
Many of these are unique to Bromley House - most notably, several items from our James Ward collection, a former library member and notable bibliophile. His collection includes his correspondence with Lady Mary Lovelace, the wife of Byron's grandson, as well as early letters discussing the true nature of Byron's famously termed "club foot" and his purchase of a Byron forgery. Interpretation relating to the famous poet can be found throughout the library, including a new poetic response to Byron's work "An Ode to Bromley house".
Bromley House is running a series of Byron related events throughout April which are open to non-members. Details of events and information about joining or visiting the library can be found on their website.
