The printed image as a vehicle for social commentary and satire has a long history that dates to William Hogarth in the 18th century and beyond.
Grayson Perry's work sits in that tradition. He is a witty chronicler of contemporary life with all its follies, excesses, and delusions, but his wry observations are tempered by humour and compassion.
Complementing Paula Rego's subversion of fairy tale illustrations, Perry plunders the visual culture of the past to explore a psychological map of the present day. The prints in this exhibition span twenty years of the artist's work in the medium.
Launch event: Friday 20 September, 7-9pm
Please note this exhibition is closed Mondays
