Hemlock Happening 2025 to Commemorate 80th Anniversary of VE Day
This year’s Hemlock Happening will honour the 80th Anniversary of VE Day with a packed day of entertainment, culminating in a sky-high spectacle as the Army’s world-famous Red Devils Parachute Display Team make a dramatic landing in Bramcote Hills Park at 2pm. Please note that this breathtaking display is subject to weather conditions.
As the largest free community event in the Borough, Hemlock Happening promises a memorable day for all ages. Taking place at Bramcote Hills Park, the event features a dynamic programme of live music on the United Living Main Stage, ranging from high-energy rock bands to soulful jazz and choral performances. The day will open with the Nottingham Military Wives Choir, followed by a nostalgic 1940s set by Shell’s Belles with Jeanie Barton. The afternoon continues with performances from Slow Train, Acoustic Soda, Anteloup, Beggar’s Belief, and Televised, before closing with a headline set from The Jaxx, a high-energy four-piece band.
Beyond the music, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of attractions, including community, arts, craft, and trade stalls, interactive activities, fairground rides, and classic vehicle displays. The Gladstonian Mobile Bar will be on hand for refreshments, and the HQ Army Centre and Reserve units will offer interactive military experiences for children and families—including a chance to meet the Red Devils team.
Other event highlights include performances at The Haven Performance Arena, showcasing talented local dance groups and clubs, and the Green Zone, where visitors can take part in games and eco-friendly crafts promoting environmental awareness.
The festivities will conclude with a spectacular fireworks finale at 10.30pm—an unmissable end to a day of celebration and community spirit.
Hemlock Happening is free to attend and proudly organised by Broxtowe Borough Council and The Bramcote & Stapleford Golden Jubilee Group, with special thanks to 2025 sponsors United Living and Gladstonian Mobile Bar and Events, as well as support from The Haven Church Stapleford and Nottinghamshire County Council.
