Heritage Open Days - Wollaton Hall Walled Kitchen Garden

About

12 - September 2023
Heritage Open Days at Wollaton Hall Walled Kitchen Garden

A fun day for all to find out about the history of Wollaton Hall's amazing kitchen garden, discover what was grown and how the garden looked and was run in its heyday over 100 years ago. Meet the fantastic volunteers restoring its heritage.

Nottinghamshire Gardens Trust and the Friends of Wollaton Park Walled Garden Project will be on-site to show visitors the restoration in progress of Nottingham’s oldest and largest walled kitchen garden. Lots to see, including a restored ‘cucumber house’, unusual 'heated walls', bothies and a head gardener’s cottage. Lots to do, including a children’s spotter sheet (with prizes when successfully completed), and hands-on activities for children. Gardeners and heritage experts will be on-site to welcome visitors and answer questions. Refreshments will be available outside the gardener's cottage (tea/coffee/juice/cakes& biscuits – small charge).
